After a whole summer season unable to take passengers on board due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the lovely Victorian Oyster Boat Terror is now back in the water and ready to welcome guests once again.
After completing a rigorous winter maintenance and fit out schedule, Terror was re-launched at Emsworth Yacht Harbour in Mid-April. Her spars have all been sanded down and re-varnished, the bottom antifouled, the topsides painted and the decks rubbed down and a fresh coat of non-slip paint added.
During the long winter months, master shipwright Nick Gates completed the highly technical task of making asset of brand new mast hoops from locally sourced oak trees. These are a work of art in themselves and will give us many years of service.
Terror is owned by Chichester Harbour Conservancy and operated by a dedicated team of volunteers from Friends of Chichester Harbour. All our skippers and crew are now fully certificated ready for the 2021 season and are looking forward to being able to take passengers out around Chichester Harbour once again. Terror can take up to six paying passengers and a crew of up to three and the trips usually last between two and three hours, depending on wind and tide.
Sailing on Terror is a memorable and enjoyable experience and the skipper will involve the passengers in sailing the boat and taking the helm if they so wish.
Booking a trip on Terror is easy. Simply book on-line. Trips cost £25 per person or £125 if you want the whole boat to yourselves.
So don’t delay, book today and we look forward to welcoming you on board.
